74HCT160 Synchronous Decade Counter IC (74160 IC) DIP-16 Package

74HCT series ICs are High-speed logic gates with very low power consumption that utilize advanced silicon-gate CMOS, TTL compatible input technology. The only difference between HC and HCT is the input logic level. In general, For HC, anything below 1.5 V is a low signal, anything above 3.5 V is seen as high (assuming 5 V supply). For HCT, these levels have been changed to 0.8 V and 2.0 V. And 74HCT160 is one of the 74HCT series IC. 74HC160 ICs contain a synchronized decade counter. Synchronous operation is provided by a positive edge clock. Two enable inputs (ENT and ENP) and CARRY output (RCO) is provided to enable easy cascading of counters, which facilities easy implementation of N-bit counters without using external gates.The 74HCT160 ICs have a wide operating range of VCC from 2 V to 6 V. Maximum current consumption is 80 uA through Icc and 1 uA per input pin. And the propagation delay is 13 ns. They can drive 10 LS-TTL loads at a time. This means that the output pin of a counter can drive 10 TTL based Low-Power Schottky( LS ) input pins. They can provide 4 mA on outputs at 5 V VCC. They allow inputs and outputs up to VCC. Recommended operating VCC is 5 V. Load Current can reach up to 25 mA per output pin and 50 mA for overall pins in between 0 V to VCC.
